We will be singing "The Balcony Scene" from West Side Story and "One Second" and a "Million Miles" from Bridges of Madison County. Matt Doyle: We can mention a couple incredible duets we're doing. I feel so fortunate to be singing some of the best soprano songs ever written for Broadway. Some songs are from roles I've played in the past (and am currently playing.hint, hint) and many are from dream roles of mine. Can you tell us what songs you'll be singing? If so, how did you decide on them? Were there any songs you wanted to sing, but due to the programming of the evening, they ended up on the cutting room floor?Īli Ewoldt: I don't want to reveal too much of our actual song list, but it was the result of a great brainstorming session between all of us. He so clearly loves what he does and loves the pieces he brings to such vibrant life with The New York Pops.

During Carrie's young life Arthur held an innumerable number of jobs, including at a crab cannery in Maryland, jobs in sales, a brief stint working for PBS on Sesame Street, and many others. Arthur quit his acting career in an attempt to create a more stable life for his daughter. After a night of passion, the couple found out that Sophia was pregnant, and decided to get married for the sake of the child, Simone (later Carrie). It was during this time that he met his first wife, Sophia, a show dancer. Sometime after the war, Arthur took up a career as an actor, performing on Broadway and at other venues. At some point during his enlistment, he left a man named Jack Russell for dead. He variously claims to have been in the US Army 33rd Brigade and the 71st Infantry Division (United States). Arthur served in World War II in the Italian theater and in The Battle of the Bulge, and also mentions being in Paris, France. He lived on a farm from the ages of 7 to 10, then again at 43, was a gifted singer as a child, performed jigs for the workers at the Empire State Building, has an estranged half-brother named Skitch, was bald until the age of 12, and lost his virginity to someone named Peppermint Patty. He was born in 1926 to an abusive father (played in one episode by Stiller's own son, Ben Stiller), but nothing is known about his mother. Little is known about Arthur's early life. He lives with his daughter Carrie and her husband, Doug Heffernan. Excerpt: Arthur Eugene Spooner is a fictional character played by Jerry Stiller on the sitcom The King of Queens.
